As we women get older we need to work on our strength. Mitch has helped me do that, all while taking great care with my bad knee and assorted other age-related aches and pains. I have fewer of those aches and pains now, I am much stronger, and my arms look way better in a sleeveless summer dress. (The latter is bonus!)
The more I attended the better I got and the faster I started seeing results. Mitch always helped me get past my comfort level and was always so encouraging. After just 10 weeks I was a whole new person inside and out. My body changed but my confidence grew immensely. I will forever be thankful for Mitch seeing my full potential and bringing it out. I have been training with Mitch at MPOWERED for almost 9 months now. Before starting I hadn’t been to a gym for almost 6 years and was living a pretty sedentary lifestyle. At that point the idea of just walking into a gym was intimidating. What if I used the equipment wrong? What if I get there and don’t know what to do? People are going to judge me! But once I got there I could immediately feel the welcoming atmosphere! I’ve met some really great people and Mitch has been helping me create a healthy lifestyle while also keeping me accountable. So when I called Mitch last October I felt I had hit bottom and needed the help of a professional to help me get into shape and lose weight that I had been attempting, in the wrong ways, to take off for years. After 2 kids and belonging to the gym off and on for the past 6 years, I weighed more that I had even when nine months pregnant, didn’t really fit any of my clothes and wasn’t happy with the way I looked or felt.
He was the first phone call I made as it was his ad that popped up first on Kijiji. We talked on the phone for quite a while and before I even met him face to face, I was sold. I came in on that first day and was so overwhelmed as I had never even lifted a weight before in my life. He took it really slow those first few sessions, introducing me to each machine or exercise, showing me how it worked, and correcting anything that needed to be. The full meal plan, which I think was introduced to me in week 2, was what really got things going for me. It was customized to me and based on my weight, the weight I wanted to get to, and the amount of activity I was doing. Although the food was not the type I was used to eating in the past, I wasn’t hungry and always satisfied.
I saw Mitch two or three times per week for about 8 months and in that time, lost 41 pounds! And feeling like I worked for every single ounce of it. And really, it is what I gained that means the most to me; muscle, strength, energy that I have never had, and a feeling of not being embarrassed of my own body. My family has benefited from this as well. We eat healthier than we ever have, automatically making the choice of natural over processed when it’s available and cutting out the juice and processed snacks altogether.
